SDES Bricklab ProjectsStudents at South Dodge Elementary participate in a S.T.E.M. (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math) BrickLab workshop in the afterschool program. The BrickLab is a hands-on curriculum using manipulatives from LEGOS to K’Nex. It is designed to inspire students to develop a passion and understanding in Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics. BrickLab is focused on making learning and discovery fun and interactive for learners in Pre-K -12th grade. BrickLab was designed to improve student retention and create growth within the program. The lab activities have been proven to improve test scores, increase student attendance, and provide academic enrichment in exciting hands-on ways. Mrs. Bonnie Beck works with the students in the BrickLab at South Dodge Elementary.  The pictures shown are some of the students’ creations. The students created the models from their own ideas in two 35-minute sessions.
