The Dodge County Board of Education received a check for $770,474.00 at the February 16, 2011 meeting. This money was returned as the result of an appeal granted by the FCC for Erate funds administered by Universal Service Administrative Company (USAC). These funds are available through grants to assist schools with the purchase of telecommunications and Internet Access. The successful appeal was a combined effort by the local school system, state leaders, and Rick Rogers, the Director of Technology for the Dodge County School System. Progressive Communications, Inc. President Mark Hurt is shown presenting the check to school board chairman Shirley Ikedionwu.
